Congratulations to Markus Utke for winning the Fight Night Combat tournament at Jongliernacht Hannover last weekend in a historic fashion. Not only did he win all three of his knockout matches, he did so without losing a single point! This included a 5-0 win over top 10 player Alex Leymann in his semi-final, along with his 5-0 win over top seed Oliver Rudolph. In the entire recorded history of Fight Night Combat, no player has been so dominant in the knockout stages of a tournament!
15 jugglers took part in the qualifications in Hannover, and the top eight made it into the knockout. The final eight featured six top 50 players in total, including the winner of the Suderberg 2015 Fight Night, Friederike Kraaz.
This was Markus's first ever overall win, an improvement on his second place finish at Nürnberg in November. His 250 points raises him to 16th in the current 52 week rankings and he enters the 2016 rankings race at joint 12th, along with the other three juglers who have won 250 level tournaments.
Thanks to Alex for organizing the tournament, and to Sarah Richter for the photos. See all the results and details at the Jongliernacht Hannover 2016 page: http://fightnightcombat.com/tournament-Jongliernacht-Hannover-2016.html
