Luke vs Markus in the NJF 2018 Fight Night Combat final

Two jugglers from Berlin reached the final of the Netherlands Juggling Festival 2018 Fight Night, the second Major 750 tournament of the year. Luke Burrage was aiming to defend his NJF title from last year, and also win his fourth NJF title overall. Markus Utke was hoping to go one better than his second place finish at the NJF 2016, and win his first Major 750 tournament. Markus also won the last time these two players went head to head, so Luke was looking for revenge.

26 jugglers took part in the qualifications, with the top 16 making the knockout matches. The top four seeds all made the semi-finals, with Dutch juggler Bas Van de Kerkhof making third place, and Dutch juggler Simon À Campo coming in fourth.

The rankings points Markus and Luke received for making the final/winning boosts both up the 52 Week Current Rankings to third and fourth place. The winner also receives an automatic invite to the European Masters 2018 end-of-year championship, held in Berlin in November.

Thanks to Roel Post and Eva Schubach for hosting the tournament, Melissa Staugaard and Leanne Staugaard for organising and scoring, Dave Leahy for officiating, and Juliane Kunzendorf for filming the action.
