We are half way through the Fight Night Combat 2018 season, and the Race To Berlin is hotting up!

Each year at the end of November, the top 10 combat players are invited to Berlin to take part in a final tournament called the European Masters. It's worth 750 rankings points, and helps determine the end-of-year rankings. The last two years have been won by Jochen Pfeiffer, with Eóin Allan taking the title in 2015.

The invites are decided by the 2018 Race Rankings, which are based only on the tournaments so far in the 2018 season (since November 2017).

Interestingly, after 27 tournaments, there is a tie for the top spot. Cameron Ford has 1095 rankings points, exactly the same number as Jon Peat. However, as the winner of the first Major 750 tournaments of the year, the British Juggling Convention 2018 Fight Night, Jon Peat has already secured his invite. Luke Burrage won the next Major 750, at the Netherlands Juggling Festival earlier this month, but two more automatic invites are available for winning the Berlin or European Juggling Convention Fight Nights.

This year only the top nine jugglers will be invited to take part based purely on their Race Rankings position, with the tenth reserved for a special wildcard entry. This is to reward unique contributions to the FNC scene, and to increase diversity at the European Masters; last year featured only British and German jugglers, and previous years have seen only two other nationalities (Irish and Dutch).

There are 34 more tournaments scheduled in the 2018 Calendar, so there are still plenty of chances to take part, earn enough rankings points, and get an all-expenses-paid trip to Berlin at the end of November to compete against the best of the best in 2018.
